Liquid Foundation and Primer
How to Apply Your Liquid Foundation
Applying liquid foundation can be a bit tricky, especially when you don't have the right tools. Is it better to use a brush, a sponge, or your fingers? We'll explain it all!
"Can you explain how to apply liquid foundation with a brush, because I do it with my fingers."
I assume that if someone asks the question, they are not alone with doubts!
Apply Your Foundation with Your Fingers
Applying foundation with your fingers is not a bad idea. The key is to adapt to the product. I recommend applying the product with your fingers if it's very sheer. Fingers have the disadvantage of leaving streaks.
With a BB cream, a tinted moisturizer, or a foundation with light coverage, you can dab the product with your fingertips, as if you were trying to work it into the skin, but gently. These small movements will limit streaks, unlike dragging the foundation by pressing too hard, which usually results in an inconsistent finish.
Apply Your Foundation with a Sponge
A sponge is a makeup tool that really revolutionized my life when I discovered it. At the time, I wasn't using foundation because I found it too challenging to apply.
The principle of these sponges is that they are used damp. This matters! Moisture, along with the tapping motion, facilitates blending the foundation into the skin. The sponge applies the foundation while blending, providing hydration, resulting in good makeup. For me, this is truly the most suitable tool for beginners.
A slight drawback, the sponge being a sponge, it may tend to absorb the foundation, wasting some product. So, it's more suitable for thicker foundations that hold up better than very liquid foundations. Don't forget to clean it regularly to optimize its use!
Apply Your Foundation with a Brush
The brush technique always scared me a little until I started to really appreciate it.
I recommend using a brush with liquid foundations; that's what maximizes the coverage of the product that can be quickly absorbed by a sponge, as mentioned above. The key is to choose an appropriate brush. As many sellers had advised me, I used a flat brush for a while, believing it was the best. In my opinion, this is the best way to get streaks! I really saw the advantage when I started using brushes with very short and dense bristles. They allow the material to be distributed without demarcations and blend it at the same time.
In brush descriptions, look for the term "buff," which completely describes this action that blurs the product and blurs the skin.
How to Use the Brush?
It's quite simple! I suggest applying a few dots of foundation on your face instead of a large amount on the brush. It will give a more even result.
Start by stretching the material without pressing too hard with the brush (tap on the skin to avoid streaks) and tap all over the face to even out the skin. Add a bit more foundation if the coverage is not sufficient, in the same way. I recommend doing this several times rather than applying too much at once to achieve a more natural finish.
In my opinion, using a brush is more challenging with thick materials because streaks are harder to avoid. It's doable but less comfortable than with a liquid foundation.
On the other hand, dense bristle brushes are ideal for stick foundations, whose material is usually harder to stretch with a sponge, for example.
The type of foundation application depends on the foundation!
In summary, if you use a very light and liquid foundation, applying it with your fingers shouldn't be a problem. For light coverage, quick application, and/or slightly thick foundation, the makeup sponge is ideal. To maximize coverage, especially with a very liquid foundation or to spread a stick foundation, I recommend a brush with dense bristles. In general, I advise testing what works best for you. Still, I know that some of my foundations look beautiful only when applied with a brush and not with a sponge, or vice versa. Test, and you should see the difference quickly!

10 Makeup Tips for a Perfect Look
Makeup is an art that can enhance natural beauty and boost the confidence of any woman. With the right techniques and products, achieving a flawless look for any occasion is possible. In this article, we share 10 essential makeup tips that will help you achieve professional results and highlight your best version.
1. Prep Your Skin:
Before starting your makeup, properly prep your skin. Cleanse your face with a product suitable for your skin type and apply a facial moisturizer to ensure a smooth and hydrated base.
2. Use a Primer:
Primer is a powerful ally for long-lasting makeup. It helps minimize the appearance of pores, smooth fine lines, and provides a uniform surface for foundation application.
3. Choose the Right Foundation:
Find a foundation that matches your skin tone and type. It's important to apply the foundation evenly, using a sponge, brush, or your fingers. Ensure to blend the product well to avoid demarcation lines.
4. Conceal Imperfections:
To conceal dark circles, blemishes, or imperfections, use a concealer for dark circles and a high-coverage concealer. Apply these products only where needed and blend well for a natural finish.
5. Accentuate Your Eyebrows:
Well-defined eyebrows can transform the face. Use an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow to fill in gaps and shape your eyebrows. Brush them with a dedicated brush for a polished finish.
6. Enhance Your Eyes:
Use eye shadows to highlight the color and shape of your eyes. Choose colors that complement your skin tone and enhance your natural beauty. Use an eye primer before applying eyeshadow to increase longevity and intensify colors.
7. Line Your Eyes:
Eyeliner can be used to create different styles and enhance the shape of your eyes. Try liquid eyeliners, gel liners, or pencils to create different effects, such as a precise thin line or a smoky look.
8. Apply Mascara:
Mascara is essential for adding volume and length to your lashes. Apply it from root to tip, making zigzag movements to avoid clumps. If you desire an even more dramatic effect, consider using false eyelashes.
9. Blush and Highlighter:
Blush adds color and life to the apples of your cheeks. Choose a shade that suits your skin tone and apply it lightly, blending well for a natural effect. Highlighter can be applied to high points of the face, such as the cheekbones, brow bone, and nose bridge, to enhance skin luminosity.
10. Finish with Lipstick:
Lipstick is the final touch to complete your makeup. Choose a color that suits the occasion and your personal style. Hydrate your lips well before applying lipstick and use a lip liner to define the contour and prevent smudging.
Conclusion:
With these 10 makeup tips, you are ready to create amazing looks and highlight your unique beauty. Remember to practice and experiment with different techniques and products to discover what works best for you. Makeup is a form of personal expression, so have fun and feel confident in your own skin.

How to Create the Perfect Makeup Bag?
It's challenging to separate the essential from the superfluous in the makeup department. Discover everything you need to keep in your makeup bag for touch-ups, day or night.
MAKEUP FOR THE COMPLEXION: THE 7 ESSENTIALS
A complexion base (or primer) to apply after the daytime moisturizer and before the foundation. This smoothens and blurs facial imperfections and enhances the foundation's staying power. There are bases for all needs: fixing for makeup setting, illuminating for a radiant complexion, mattifying for combination to oily skin, concealer for camouflaging minor redness...
A foundation to even out the complexion. Whether you prefer liquid, compact, stick, cushion... it doesn't matter, always choose the same color as your skin tone. Apply not necessarily all over the face but only in certain areas to harmonize the complexion.
A concealer to camouflage bags, dark circles, and soften the eye area. Choose according to your skin type: a rather fluid texture for normal skin and a more compact one for dry skin, for example. It should be at least 1 shade lighter than the foundation.
A corrector to eliminate small skin defects like redness, spots, or small blood vessels. Apply with light touches on the affected areas. The choice of the right product relies on its color pigments: green conceals redness, orange conceals blue of dark circles, purple conceals yellowish imperfections.
A loose powder to mattify the complexion and set the makeup all day long. Apply in very small quantities, not all over the face but in certain areas, especially the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin).
Bronzer for a healthy glow in 3 minutes! Choose a quite matte one, without glitter or pearlescent, and apply with a moderate brush on rounded areas of the face (forehead, nose, cheekbones) where the sun naturally tans us first.
A blush, to add a touch of color to the face. Quite pink for fair skin and orange for darker skin. Apply in small strokes on the cheekbones, starting from the apple of the cheek and extending outward. Avoid exaggeration to prevent the 80s makeup effect.
MAKEUP FOR THE EYES: THE 5 ESSENTIALS
A neutral eyelid primer for better application of eyeshadow, eyeliner, or kohl pencil with longer-lasting fixation. Particularly useful to avoid panda eyes during the day.
An eyeshadow palette to use the colors as desired. You don't need hundreds of different shades; a dozen will do the job very well. The idea is to be able to adjust the eyelid color according to the desired makeup (day or night, for example).
Eyeliner for almond-shaped eyes. Don't hesitate to practice repeatedly in front of the mirror to get the line perfectly aligned with the upper lashes.
A kohl pencil, easier to handle than eyeliner, to apply on the inner side of the eyes, under the lower lashes, or at the root of the upper lashes on the eyelid.
Waterproof mascara to enhance eyelash volume. If there was only one makeup accessory to keep for eye makeup, it would be this. Apply at the end to enlarge and deepen the eyes.
MAKEUP FOR THE LIPS: THE 3 ESSENTIALS
A moisturizer to nourish lips that tend to dry quickly. Apply a layer always before lipstick.
A nude lipstick to enhance the lip color. Its great advantage: it adapts to all looks and all occasions. And since there is not only one nude shade, everyone needs to find theirs.
A colored lipstick to give a highlight and color to your makeup. In terms of color, brunettes can wear absolutely everything, while blondes should avoid very cool or dark tones. And if you're not comfortable with traditional lipstick, you can easily resort to other rouge textures.
BROW MAKEUP: THE 3 ESSENTIALS
A brush to tame eyebrows. If they are already naturally filled, you may not necessarily need to apply makeup, a few touch-ups to give a beautiful shape may be enough.
Colored gel or pencil to easily fill in gaps in eyebrows. The colored gel is ultra-flexible and can be used with an angled brush to better replicate eyebrow hair.
A fixing mascara to keep eyebrows in place all day.
