Bourjois é um dos mais antigos fabricantes franceses de cosméticos. Esta marca nasceu em 1863 no Grands Boulevards Parisiens, no bairo dos teatros.

Seu fundador, Joseph-Albert Ponsin, originalmente criava maquilhagem e produtos de maquilhagem para atores e atrizes. Suas primeiras criações foram batons de sombras com tons muito variados e nomes incomuns: inveja, amantes, Romeu ... Ele também registrou a patente Blanc de Perles, uma base destinada a clarear a pele.

Apesar do sucesso de seus produtos, ele vendeu sua pequena empresa para Alexandre-Napoléon Bourjois em 1868: A. Bourjois & Cie nasceu!

Do palco para a cidade

A Bourjois, "fornecedora oficial de teatros imperiais", conta entre os seus clientes a famosa Sarah Bernard ... Pouco a pouco, os produtos da marca passam da cena para a cidade e conquistam novos clientes.

O Pó de Arroz de Java, destinado a clarear a tez, obteve, desde 1879, um grande sucesso com as mulheres parisienses da época em todo o mundo. Em 1897, dois milhões de caixas foram vendidas em 120 países!

Em 1891, o catálogo da marca ofereceu mais de 700 referências: sabonetes, pó de arroz, brilho, sombras, bases indianas (os ancestrais do rímel, etc.) ou até loção para os cabelos.

O Blush Bourjois

Verdadeiros ícones da marca, os blushes Bourjois ainda estão no topo das vendas hoje. Mais de 6 milhões de unidades são vendidas a cada ano em todo o mundo, em sua famosa caixinha redonda!

Esse blush deve seu sucesso a um processo de fabricação específico. Em 1881, Alexandre-Napoléon Bourjois inventou as primeiras sombras secas, misturas de pó e água, moldadas em moldes convexos e depois secas em um prato. Este pó aéreo destrona imediatamente os blushes da época!

Desde então, o sucesso dessas sombras nunca vacilou e certas referências como "Cendre de Rose" aparecem no catálogo desde 1910. A pequena caixa redonda evoluiu, passando de papelão a plástico e pó de arroz com um pincel, mas as mulheres permaneceu fiel a ele.
Bourjois até publica séries vintage e versões ilustradas em uma edição limitada para colecionadores.

Uma marca de vanguarda

Na década de 1920, Bourjois tornou-se perfumista, criando "Mon Parfum" em 1924, depois "Soir de paris" em 1928. Em 1924, a família Wertheimer (que comprou a empresa) uniu forças com Coco Chanel para criar a empresa de perfumes Chanel.

Nas décadas seguintes, a marca apoiou as mulheres em sua emancipação.
A partir da década de 1950, ela ampliou sua clientela para meninas, oferecendo rímel à prova d'água, sombras para os olhos Jolicils ou Rouge Fidèle, o primeiro batom a combinar brilho e longa duração.

No início da década de 1980, as Sombras Pastel complementaram as famosas Sombras Pastel Cheeks. Em 1990, Bourjois entrou nos supermercados e, em seguida, adicionou uma linha de produtos de higiene pessoal aos seus produtos de maquilhagem e perfume: Grains de Beauté.

Two different options are available.
•    The first is a pencil very close to the natural color of your lips. This will allow you to better enhance your lipstick and can also be used with a nude gloss.
•     The second is a lip liner in red, pink, or coral very close to the color of your lipstick. The idea is not to exceed one or two maximum tones, so as not to create a very visible demarcation.
